Christmas Day 2008. In a few short days your commission to set sail on a voyage around the world will begin. Yarr me hearties, a circumnavigation of the globe no less. The preparations are proceeding handsomely, the cargo's been loaded and soon you'll be ready to cast off.
And shiver me timbers if this captain's blog won't keep the landlubbers appraised of your progress. We'll keep a lookout posted for your reckonings of the voyage, with pictures and notes of your adventures, provided the grub and the grog and the hornpipe don't keep you loaded to the gunwales.
